Pa

Willie Oren Flemmons ("Pa") passed away at the age of 84 on September 18, 2010 at his home in Seagraves, TX. He was born to Willie and Ellen Flemmons on October 11, 1925 in Blevins, TX. He married Lula Tye ("Mema") on May 28, 1942 at the age of 16. They were married 68 years and had 5 children: Bobby (my dad), Author Lee (who passed 16 days after birth in 1944), Charlie, Bill, and Sandra.

Pa enjoyed farming, went on many fishing trips, and worked in his 2-3 acre garden every day. He had even picked 30 pounds of fresh okra and had 10-20 watermelons at his roadside stand the day before he passed. We will remember him as a tender hearted, compassionate man who always wanted to help others in need. His handshake was as good as a contract. He taught our family good work values and to think of others. He was a devoted Christian with a humble personality. He will be missed greatly by his 4 children, 10 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

Katelin celebrated her first birthday at her grandparents' house in Round Rock. We grilled hamburgers and had cake and homemade ice cream.

We went to the Grand Canyon for our vacation this year. We stayed in Sedona, Arizona. The mule ride was great fun! We suggest everyone seeing the Grand Canyon at least once in a lifetime.
