American Idol

Katelin is definitely a performer. She sings and dances from waking in the morning to singing herself to sleep at night. I think we have the next "American Idol" on our hands!!

Sweet Baby Tye

Tye is getting so fun. He smiles a ton and has the best laugh you will ever hear. Here are some sweet baby Tye pics to prove it...

This was Tye's first time to sit in a Bumbo.
"Hmmm....what is this thing?"

"Whoah.."

"Whoooahhh!!!"
"whew...now I've got the hang of it."
Comfy on mommy's lap
Bright-eyed and ready to go SWIMMING!!
Sporting the cool swimming hat.
First time in ExerSaucer, aka "circle of neglect" as John would call it.

...See, I told you he was sweet, adorable, and cute...I mean "handsome"

4th

My parents were here for the 4th of July and we had a great time.

It started out with a parade on on the strand. We ran into our friend Elizabeth on the way and she joined us in the watching. This was Katelin's first parade and she was amazed that everyone threw stuff at you. You know Galveston takes any chance they can to throw beads!! Every time she sees her beads now, she says "throw 'em ah-choo"

We then progressed to you know where...the pool. Here is Grandad getting some Tye time. Do you think they look a little alike??
The Raimer's had a 4th party at their place on the bay. It was great to hang out with our First Baptist buddies.

Summer Time

While Meghan was still in Houston, we decided to take Katelin to the Children's museum. Most of the things there were a little too big for her to do, but she still enjoyed running around. The things she liked the best were driving the volkswagon van in Mexico, the face painting, and of all things...milking the fake cow (my Mema will be proud!!).

After the museum Keslyn, Kari, Brian, his parents (Albert and Carolyn) and my mom joined us at Chuy's for lunch. Katelin enjoyed her first push-pop. Yes, she licked the whole thing (with just a little help from daddy).
Kari and Keslyn came down to their Galveston time-share to celebrate Keslyn's 8th birthday. Katelin and I joined them at the beach.

We then went to the Moody Gardens aquarium. I think Katelin is trying to imitate her big cousin posing in the shark cage.
The penguins.

We then went to the Rain forest cafe and Keslyn picked out her build-a-bear leopard for her birthday present.
We went back to the resort and swam some more.My mom helped out a ton over the summer keeping the kids up in Houston, or at our house.
Here is Katelin after a long weekend in Houston...swimming in the apartment pool. This was her "bedroom" (the closet).
Linda has been taking care of the kiddos the last three weeks of Meghan's away rotation. Randy came down this past weekend and we had a great time at the Yacht club pool.
Katelin has become a great swimmer!! She says1...2...3...swim daddy, or swim mommy, or swim edge. She can swim underwater about 10 feet all on her own...no floaties!!! The only problem ...she has not mastered coming up for air yet. She is very close, though.

Tye actually loves the pool too...he usually just sits in his car-seat and naps.
I took a half day off to enjoy Katelin last week. Chad, Maddox, Katelin and I had "daddy dates" with the kids. We went to the Moody Gardens Rain forest and Palm Beach and had a great time.
Random lizard in the rain forest.
This is "Palm Beach" at Moody Gardens. I think this will become our primary hangout during the summer. There are nice sandy beaches, large non-salty kid pools, a couple of water slides, and a splash park. It's almost like being at a resort.

Katelin didn't enjoy the water play park too much. She had rather be submersed in water than splashed in the face.

Maddox and Katelin enjoying the lazy summer.
Welcome to our new blog! We thought this would be a fun way to share our pictures and lives with family and friends. Thanks for visiting. Enjoy!
Katelin celebrated her first birthday at her grandparents' house in Round Rock. We grilled hamburgers and had cake and homemade ice cream.

We went to the Grand Canyon for our vacation this year. We stayed in Sedona, Arizona. The mule ride was great fun! We suggest everyone seeing the Grand Canyon at least once in a lifetime.

Summer is definitely here! Katelin loves the pool.
