Tye: Week 1

Tye has had a great first week of life. A week full of grandparents and lots of love from mom, dad, and big sis. We are grateful for our parents' support and help during these first few hectic days of life.
Meghan's parents came down on Sunday and are leaving tomorrow. "Mam-mother" helped put the finishing touches on Tye's room making curtains as well as cooking wonderful meals this week. "Granddaddy" helped wrestle with Katelin through the week. Thanks a ton for all of your help!!
My parents "Nana and Gran-dad" were here for Tye's first hours of life and will be coming back next week to help out around the house.

Here are some cute pics of Tye's first days of life. He is already a strong boy. He tries to stand up while trying to burp him, he holds his head up strong and has a mean suck on the finger.

This week in G-town has been BEAUTIFUL. We have spent many hours rocking on the front porch. First bath. He obviously doesn't take after his dad just yet...he hates having his hair washed.

Katelin loves her baby brother and kisses him every chance she gets. She has had a great week with the grandparents. She has loved the Play-Doh and puzzles that her Uncle Chad and Aunt Jenny sent.

Zachary Tye Flemmons

So this is the story. Meg wakes up having tightening of her belly at about 4 yesterday morning. She falls back asleep, thinking nothing of it. She wakes up at about 5 with more pain more regularly...now every 3-5 minutes. We finally decide that this is what real labor is and call the hospital. We head to the hospital at about 7. Speeding, running red lights, the whole "my wife's in labor" thing, because the contractions now really hurt and are really close. We get checked in to Christus St. John's at about 7:45. Tye was welcomed into the world at 8:23am. No time for epidural, no time to really even think.

Here he is!!! Our sweet Tye.
Fresh out of the womb.
And he weighs.....9 pounds 7 ounces!!! 20 inches long.
Meghan will kill me for putting this picture up, but I thought it was classic. It's the "I just delivered a 9lb 7oz baby without an epidural" look. Way to go babe!!! I knew I married a real woman!!!
Here is the family looking on as Tye gets his first bath and shampoo. Nana, Grandad, my sister Kari, and niece Keslyn drove down to help out and enjoy the occasion. I felt a little like a monkey in a zoo, but was glad they could watch the whole thing.
Once he was all fresh and clean, the whole family got to take turns holding him. First off is big sis Katelin. She was so excited to see her little brother. She kept saying "so sweet, so cute."
Proud Mom...really, way to go, Meg!!! You look great right after delivery.
Very proud Dad : ) What daddy wouldn't be proud of his 9lb 7oz boy!?! Way to go Tye!!!
Our new Flemmons Family of FOUR!!!
Proud Grandad.
Proud Nana.

Proud aunt Kari
Our sweet friends John and Erika came up to see Tye for the first time. Thanks ahead of time for all of the babysitting y'all will be doing : ) What an awesome Easter present...to celebrate new life in our family. We got to bring him home a little over 24 hours after birth. We are grateful for an "uneventful" delivery and healthy little Tye.

38...39...40!!!

Here are some more Prego Mego pics...
This is Meg at 39.86 weeks. She will be 40 weeks tomorrow!!!
As you can see, when the weather is nice we have really enjoyed taking Katelin, Juliette, and baby boy for a walk...with hopes of getting him to come out!!
We also went for a boat ride on Saturday...with hopes of getting baby boy to come out!! Maybe not the best activity for a 39 week prego, but hey...what else are you supposed to do on a beautiful day in Galveston?!! Here comes Chad in the boat.Maddox is already checking out Katelin.
We just love how Katelin uses mom's belly as an arm rest and crosses her little legs when she sits.
One of our dear friends kept Katelin at the last minute last Friday night so Meg and I could have one last night on the town. We had a great dinner at Rudy and Paco's, then enjoyed some classic entertainment at the Grand Opera House watching the St. Vincent's concert. It brought back some fun memories of my St. Vincent's days.
Meg ready to go to work. We are grateful that Meg has felt so good this pregnancy. If it weren't for the huge lump under her scrubs, you would never know she was 39 weeks.

Beautiful day for a walk

It was an awesome day outside. Meghan's mom came to visit and we all went for a walk this morning. Are you impressed?...I actually posted pictures the same day they were taken!!!

Meghan is at 37 weeks yesterday and still feeling great. This weekend is her last weekend call!!
Katelin loves to hold "Daddattt's" (Juliette's) leash when we go for a walk. I think she likes to be in control.
Katelin wanted us to "seet (sit) mommy, seet daddy," so we did and Linda was nice enough to take a picture of our whole family. Mom, dad, 1.925 kids, and Juliette.
Welcome to our new blog! We thought this would be a fun way to share our pictures and lives with family and friends. Thanks for visiting. Enjoy!
Katelin celebrated her first birthday at her grandparents' house in Round Rock. We grilled hamburgers and had cake and homemade ice cream.

Katelin's one! (April 2007)
We went to the Grand Canyon for our vacation this year. We stayed in Sedona, Arizona. The mule ride was great fun! We suggest everyone seeing the Grand Canyon at least once in a lifetime.

Summer is definitely here! Katelin loves the pool.
