All grown up.

Tye had his first haircut last week. Meghan was worried that Tye would have ambliopia with the hair covering his eyes, so I caved in.

We went to Round Rock this past weekend to celebrate Tye's first birthday.

Burgers...the Bolding tradition.

Presents!! I think Tye's favorite present was the maracas. He would not let them go the whole time he was opening presents.

He had a great time climbing all over the presents.

Tye did not want to eat his cake. So much for the cute "eating the cake" pic!

On our way home, we decided to do the Texas tradition of taking pictures in the bluebonnets. It was a beautiful day and there were ton of cars pulled over doing the same, so we didn't feel that weird.

HLSR

Our church small group decided to go to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (HLSR)yesterday. Here are Elizabeth, John, Erika, and the Flemmons fam.

Katelin loved the pigs. They actually had an area where piglets, calves and lambs were being born. We saw some that were only a day old. We also saw a little chick pecking it's way out of the egg!!

Tye liked the pigs too...he kept trying to reach out and touch them.

Ferry Ride

Last weekend my parents were here and we decided to give Flat Stanly a little adventure.

Here we are in front of the old Mermaid Souvenir Shop and Murdoch's Pier. The Flagship is still standing in the background, but should be condemned it is in such bad shape.This is in front of where the Balanise used to be.The Galvez.
We then decided to take Flat Stanley on the Ferry. Katelin loves trying to see the dolphins, pelicans, and seagulls from the upper deck.

Spicy Applesauce

So Nana and Grandad are here to visit this weekend. We are eating lunch this afternoon and, as usual, Katelin asks for applesauce.

Nana gets her a bowl..."are you sure this is still OK?"
"It's fine...she's been eating it all week," I say.
Katelin proceeds to eat her applesauce and says, "...it's a little bit spicy."
I think to myself...you know, it's been a while since I've opened a new jar.
Taste test...Sure enough, Katelin has been eating Flemmons' famous fermented applesauce all week!! No WONDER she has been acting so good!!

The funniest part...when I took the fermented applesauce away for fear of causing early onset cirrhosis, Katelin threw a big fit saying, "I like spicy applesauce!!"
