Faces of Katelin

I just got a new camera and wanted to try it out... hmmm, Katelin makes a great subject. Here is the first pic...the everyday cuteness of Katelin. The following pics are trying to get her to smile on command... I should have stopped with this one, but learned a great lesson and got some cute faces in the process!!!
"smile real big"
"without your hands"
"now open your eyes"
"Sad Face"
"Lion Face" -her idea:)
"Scared from Lion Face" ...again, her idea
"Thinking Face"
????
"Sweet Katelin Face" (my fav)
We found out to get Katelin to smile naturally, you can't say "say cheese" or "smile" or you get all kinds of crazy faces. You have to say "show me your 'sweet Katelin Face'" and this is what we get...sweet Katelin!!

The kids.

Tye loves brownie batter. He is definitely a part of the family!!
The kids love their swings under the back porch. We have a hard time keeping Katelin out of Tye's swing.

Katelin loves her brother...this was right before she took the book from Tye, hit him over the head with it, and pushed him off the couch...
Katelin loves helping Meg clean. Here they are dusting. Katelin grabs a sock and puts on her hand to dust with...she got that from Dina.
Tye still loves his morning nap!!

Soccer!!

Katelin had her first official soccer practice yesterday. The kids had a great time. Giving directions to 3 year old kids is going to be harder than I thought!!
Their favorite game was "hit the coach." This is everyone trying to kick the ball at me.

Duke Gardens

Duke has an amazing garden about 5 minutes from our house. We have gone several times since we have been here and thought you might like to see them too!! Katelin and Tye love the Lily Pad pond.

They say that July is the worst time to go, but it is still pretty amazing. I'm sure I will post more pictures during fall and spring.

Happy 4th

For the 4th of July we went to downtown Durham. The city has renovated some old tobacco warehouses into a cool shopping area. USA was playing Guatemala at the Durham Bulls stadium so we decided to show some support and watch the show afterward.
Chic-fil-a had about 5 cows at the game and Katelin could not contain herself. She just had to dance!!! This is just a small example. The cow loved her so much that he came out just to dance with Katelin.

The kids had a GREAT time at the game and fireworks afterward.

Hello Durham

My parents were troopers. They kept the kiddos while Meg and I drove across country. They then managed to travel with a one and three year old on a three leg flight from Austin to NC with NO naps. They were the family you did NOT want to sit next to on the plane!!
The kids had the best time with the boxes...(and still are)..

My dad left on the 4th and left my mom here to help unpack, arrange and organize...thanks mom!!

Welcome to our new blog! We thought this would be a fun way to share our pictures and lives with family and friends. Thanks for visiting. Enjoy!
Katelin celebrated her first birthday at her grandparents' house in Round Rock. We grilled hamburgers and had cake and homemade ice cream.

Katelin's one! (April 2007)
We went to the Grand Canyon for our vacation this year. We stayed in Sedona, Arizona. The mule ride was great fun! We suggest everyone seeing the Grand Canyon at least once in a lifetime.
